Where to Find Free Stock Photos
Stock photos are essential to so many different design projects. Whether you’re building a website, creating images for social media or creating an email campaign, you’re going to need stock photos.
The problem is, you’ll often find free stock photos that aren’t really all that great or great stock photos that aren’t very affordable. Over the years, I’ve used both paid and free stock photos. Below, you’ll find a list of websites with FREE stock photos that are of professional quality without the professional price tag.
Free Stock Photo Website #1 – www.pexels.com
Pexels.com has been around for a while. The images are stunning and you don’t even need an account to start downloading. On top of free stock images, they also provide free stock videos.
Free Stock Photo Website #2 – Shopify
Powered by Burst, Shopify offers a wide assortment of free, high-res images. You don’t need an account and can start downloading right away which is great when you’re trying to power through a design project.
Free Stock Photo Website #3 – www.picjumbo.com
Picjumbo has a ton free stock photos that have a pretty cool vibe to them. If your target audience is younger, be sure to check them out.
Free Stock Photo Website #4 – www.stockvault.net
Another one to check out is stockvault. I find that you have to dig a little deeper with this one, but there is a good variety especially if you’re in need of travel stock images.
Free Stock Photo Website #5 – Canva
It’s no secret that you can use free images while designing within Canva, but who knew you could download the images on their own? The quality you’ll find here is fantastic and is ideal for content creation and any marketing materials you intend on making.
Free Stock Photo Website #6 – www.kaboompics.com
The photos on kaboompics have a more modern feel and are great for blogging or your social media posts. Like many of the other websites, you don’t need an account to start downloading.
Free Stock Photo Website #7 – www.pixabay.com
This free stock photo library is huge. If you want to cut right to the chase and find the best of the best Pixabay has to offer, check out the Editor’s Choice section hand-picked by the Pixabay team. Pixabay offers free stock videos as well.
Free Stock Photo Website #8 – www.freestocks.org
Another great place to find free stock photos is Freestocks.org. Many of the photos share the same kind of style which is great for using multiple photos in one project.
Free Stock Photo Website #9 – Stock Snap
This is another website that houses photos meant for a younger, more hip crowd. You’ll find a lot in the way of lifestyle, travel and fashion on Stock Snap.
Free Stock Photo Website #10 – Unsplash
Last, but not least, is Unsplash. Another one that’s been around for a while and knows how to pick breathtaking photos. Their travel and architectural photos are outstanding.
